Term has begun with a bang!

Our 2017 School term has begun with a bang!  Over the summer we had some extensive building works and our brand new Senior Prep Classroom and our new toilet block are a wonderful new addition to the school.  We have also opened our BRAND NEW Preschool class – Bumblebees – and with 8 children registered to attend throughout thBrickse year this facility is full.  We are taking registrations for September 2018 now and so if you or anyone you know wants to book in a space we suggest you call the school or email for a registration form.

Meet the teacher meetings have been very Successful.  If you were unable to attend please make sure you speak to your child’s class teacher to make sure you are up to date with the procedures and expectations of the class.

SLTOur new Director of studies and Senior Prep Teacher, Mrs J Walker, has already fully embraced life at Beehive, and alongside Mrs Abery they make up the senior leadership alongside the directors.  Please speak to them regarding any school related business and they will be happy to assist.  They have a dedicated email for such matters – seniorleadershipbeehiveprep@gmail.com .

This past weekend (16th September) saw some of our Senior Prep children sitting their 11+ grammar school exams.  This can be a very stressful situation for children and parents and we are very proud of how everyone coped. Well Done.  Over the coming weeks Mrs Walker and Mr Barker will meet with Senior Prep Parents regarding Selective School entrance exams which take place in January. GCSE

Mrs Walker is also working with some children on the possibility of being entered for aMaths GCSE this year.  More details will be given out in school.  We are really excited that we are able to offer this as this has been on the school development plan for a few years now.

Our Admissions team are working hard on September 2018 admission places.  MAIN entry to the school is at 4+ (Foundation) or 7+ (Junior Prep).  This year we will be running a 4+ assessment afternoon on Friday 10th November and a NEW 7+ Exam and Scholarship day on Friday 17th November.  The 7+ exam day will be followed up by interviews during November and December.  If you know anyone who is looking for a place in our 4+ or 7+ classes for next September please do tell them to get in touch with the office at officebeehiveprep@gmail.com .  Other spaces for other academic years are subject to space and we advise people to call the school on 0208 550 3224 to see if there is a space available.

Assessment weeks are taking place internally in school this coming week (18th – 22nd September) in preparation for our PCD day (Parent Consultation Day) in October.

This Friday we have a new families invite (at Cocoa Latte) being held by the Senior Leadership Team.  This is for parents/guardians only (no children) and is a lovely way to meet the Directors and the rest of the Leadership team at Beehive.
